FreshMenu, the Bengaluru-based internet kitchen restaurant, has raised funding of USD 2.94 million (approximately Rs 21 crore) led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Existing investors Zodius Technology Fund, K Ganesh's fund GrowthStory also participated in this.
According to the Registrar of Companies (RoC) filings by the company, LightSpeed Ventures infused USD 1.64 million of the total capital.
Freshmenu raised its last round in January 2016 — USD 17 million from Zodius Capital, with participation from existing investor LightSpeed Ventures.
The company has grown to 27 kitchens with 18 in Bengaluru, 5 in Mumbai and 4 in Delhi/NCR. Its staff of 550 members and 700 delivery personnel (hired through an agency) together fulfil about 12,000 orders every day. In October 2017, the foodtech startup had also opened a kiosk at Bengaluru Airport. However, the kiosk shut shop a year later.
