Food-ordering app Swiggy has launched a concierge service, Go, in Bengaluru.
“After enabling this with food delivery for five years and stores across the city with Swiggy Stores, Go will open the Swiggy delivery to all consumers in the city,” Sriharsha Majety, CEO and cofounder told Economic Times.
Swiggy will roll out on-demand delivery service Swiggy Stores for consumers in phases, helping them order from every store in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Swiggy had launched the hyperlocal on-demand service in Gurugram six months ago, ET reported.
In Hyderabad, Stores will be launched in two weeks. Swiggy has partnered with around 200 merchant-partners including Ratnadeep, Ghanshyam, Sneha Chicken, Yellow and Greens and 24 Organic Mantra. The app will also undertake delivery from any store of customer’s choice within the city.
Swiggy Go will be competing with Concierge app and on-demand delivery service, Dunzo. Dunzo is present in Bengaluru, Gurugram and Chennai. The app has recently branched out into bike taxi services in Gurugram and tier 2 cities like Jaipur.
Dunzo is in the final stages of raising another USD 50 million from Lightbox and Google.
Dunzo was Google’s first direct investment in India.
Amazon is also gearing up to launch a food delivery service in India.
