Uber and Ola suspend shared ride services amidst the Covid-19 outbreak

Ride-hailing apps Uber and Ola have temporarily suspended their shared ride service on Friday amidst the Covid-19 outbreak.

"In our efforts to curb the spread of Covid- 19, we are temporarily suspending the Ola Share category until further notice, the company said in a statement. The suspension is an attempt to facilitate social distancing while continuing operations for essential travel.

“We are determined to help reduce the spread of coronavirus in the cities we serve. With that in mind, we are suspending the Uber Pool service across India,” anUber Spokesperson told ET.
