CCTV News, China’s state broadcast news program, has recently reported on third-party education apps, exposing irrelevant content on those studying platforms, such as gaming, fans activity and reward programmes.

It is revealed by primary school parents that the education apps recommended by teachers contain addictive contents like virtual currency trading and net socializing. Some even offer access to games with sexual indication.

After the show released, related government offices and education departments have launched investigations nationwide.
