Chinese internet giant Tencent has launched a new short video platform named YOO, Tencent’s vice president Lin Songtao announced on November 1 at the company’s partners’ day in Nanjing, China.
The new video app will target original content with high-quality and would reflect the essence of life and value and the expression of individuals, Lin said.
Various innovative operations within YOO were highlighted at the event, such as Vlog for daily life recording and V Story for more dramatic needs. The video platform is expected to compete not just with Douyin but Tencent's own Weishi app.
