Chinese chip firm Fujian Jinhua denies Micron theft

Chinese chipmaker Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit Co Ltd said on October 3 that it has not stolen any technology, after the US Justice Department indicted the state-backed firm for stealing trade secrets.

Breaking its silence on the issue for the first time, the chip maker said it ‘has been pursuing self-independence in research and development’ and urged Micron to resume normal relations between the two companies.

The US move to block Fujian Jinhua could seriously damage Jinhua’s trial production of DRAM chips and China’s chip manufacturing strategy. It suggests escalated international trade conflict between the United States and China.
