Pierre Poignant to replace Lucy Peng as Lazada CEO

Pierre Poignant will take over as the CEO of Lazada Group from Lucy Peng. Poignant has been working for the Southeast Asian e-commerce operator for a the last six years.

Peng, a co-founder of Lazada’s controlling shareholder , will continue on her role as the executive chairman.

“The job is not new to me,” Poignant said in an interview. “We are in a very diverse region, in six countries with vastly different consumer base, vastly different landscape. The solution is different in each of these markets.”

Poignant, 39, has donned many hats during his stint at Lazada, including expanding logistics as chief operating officer. Lazada has 31 warehouses in six countries.
